Home Improvements

Our building project has come on marvellously and it is quite fantastic not to be living in a building site anymore. We are well in to the decoration phase now. The car park at the front has been slabbed with beautiful Indian stone. It’s immense! I got this tin bath from a second-hand shop. I’ve wanted one ever since I saw Kirstie’s Homemade Home on television last year. My husband has painted the inside with Galvafroid paint and planted it up with pretty flowers. LOVE IT!!

I have been searching for a while for a huge gilt frame to turn in to a chalk board. Prohibitively expensive on ebay but I found one at the shop at my local council tip for £3!! I think it looks like it comes from The Conran Shop for at least £100. There was an oil painting, a pastoral scene, in the frame. My husband thought it might be worth a fortune but after some consideration we decided it probably wasn’t and he painted it with blackboard paint. Hope it wasn’t a Constable.

We have some flooring going down today. I will keep you posted.

Love Melanie x
